Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode Officially Commissioned The Slip Roads, Laybys And Pedestrian Bridges Of The Ojodu Berger Axis

The Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode in his bid to find the lasting solution to the traffic challenges in Lagos state has succeeded in transforming the landscape of the Ojodu Berger axis with the slip roads, laybys and pedestrian bridges.

He said this is an ongoing process, that it will soon get to other part of the state where the traffic congestion is still being experienced.

"We have succeeded in transforming the landscape of the Ojodu berger axis with the slip roads, laybys and pedestrian bridges. This will ensure the smooth flow of traffic along the express, safeguard lives of our people who have to run across the express and project the image of a truly global city."


He continues...
"We will not stop with Ojodu Berger. This is an ongoing process and we are working to create solutions to traffic congestion in every part of the state. If your neighbourhood or community is experiencing the traffic challenges, be rest assure that we will soon be there."

The Purpose Of The $5.5bn Nigeria Is Seeking To Borrow - Federal Ministry Of Finance

The federal ministry of finance in a series of tweets on Friday stated how the $5.5bn Nigeria is seeking to borrow will be used; The $5.5bn Nigeria is seeking to borrow is made up of $2.5bn to finance the 2017 budget deficit and $3bn to refinance LEGACY domestic debt.  The $3bn component will not result in an increase in the public debt. It is purely a portfolio restructuring activity.   Nigeria's new Debt Management Strategy has main goal, the re-balancing of public debt portfolio in favour of long-term external debt.  What this means is we're going to be replacing domestic debt—which is mostly short-term—with cheaper & longer-term external debt  The $3bn of the $5.5bn is solely for the purpose of this refinancing/re-balancing of our debt portfolio.
