President Muhammadu Buhari is forced to work from home because of rats and rodents that ate up his office while away on medical vacation in London, according to his Senior Special Assistant on media and publicity GARBA SHEHU. Garba Shehu, while speaking to Thisday on Monday explained why the Commander in Chief will be working from his official residence having returned to the country. Shehu said that as a result of the president’s 103-day medical vacation in the UK, his office was infested by rodents, causing damage to the furniture and air conditioning units. “Following the three months period of disuse, rodents have caused a lot of damage to the furniture and the air conditioning units,” he said. Shehu, who said he cannot tell when the maintenance work will be completed, added that the development will not affect the president’s work since the residence has an annex to the office. He however said the maintenance company has been asked to speed up its work.

Constituents of Bayelsa East Senatorial District of Bayelsa State have threatened to begin a process of recalling Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, representing the constituency in the Senate.   The angry constituents, comprising mainly students, accused the ‘common sense’ Senator of neglecting them as well as having no plans for his constituency. Murray-Bruce’s constituency comprises Nembe, Brass and Ogbia LGAs of the state.   Leaders of student bodies for the three LGAs dropped their recall threat in a statement on Tuesday.
